Let’s Do Lunch
Katie Springer — Indiana State Library
Lauri Chandler — Vigo County Public Library
Project Description: “Let’s Do Lunch” is a year long project facilitated by Katie Springer Indiana State Library and Lauri Chandler Vigo County Public Library. The mission is to help more libraries in the state of Indiana collaborate with local agencies to provide summer meals for youth in need. We will be researching communities throughout the state during this year to provide condensed information on how to get started and partnering options. If you are ready to make summer meals available in your area, consider us your Library/Lunch Lady Consultants and utilize our resources or contact us for further information.
Here is our blog for more information: Libraries Do Lunch.

Demystifying Distance Education
James Bell — Anderson University
Eleanor Nave — Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library
Project Description: Create a means of communication and translation of student’s needs for accessing academic institution’s online resources through a customizable template and a website with basic information and best practices.

Library Lifeline
Emily Ellis — Greenwood Public Library
Beth Davidson — Dunkirk Public Library
Project Description: The Library Lifeline will provide first response social services assistance according to need and region. Areas of information will include: Homelessness & Hunger, Substance Abuse & Addictions, Family Support & Parenting, and Housing & Utilities. The database/website will be easily accessible, quick to navigate, and will include ways in which libraries and organizations can better work together to assure that the information is shared throughout the community. We don’t have to answer these kind of questions all of the time, but when the need arises, we’ll be able to make a difference immediately.

The Library Academy Awards
Angela Eck — Allen County Public Library
Cheryl Smith — formerly of the East Chicago Public Library
Project Description: To recognize excellence amongst library staff– not just librarians– throughout Indiana’s Libraries.

LiteBoxIN
Jonathan Gaskill – Fulton County Public Library
Austin Stroud — Bloomfield Eastern Greene County Public Library
Project Description: Technology training and education of library staff is like the elephant in the room. We all struggle with getting staff up to speed with technology to assist patrons, but none of us have the resources or time to deal with it. That is where LITEBoxIN comes in. Built using the concept of a Library Box (a small, low-powered webserver), funds will be raised through partnerships with vendors to send a box full of training resources and access to thousands of books on the public domain to every library in Indiana. Regular updates will be delivered after that via a e-mail and published to the wiki. This project hopes to launch with a small pilot of 15-20 libraries in January 2015, once funding has been established. If you are interested in this pilot project, contact Jonathan Gaskill director@fulco.lib.in.us, or Austin Stroud astroud@bloomfield.lib.in.us for more information.
