The Wabash Carnegie Public Library is actively seeking an Executive Director. This pivotal role, crucial to the library’s operations, is responsible for administrating library operations, subject to the applicable statutes and policies of the Board of Trustees.

*ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree and an Indiana LC2 Certification are required.

Responsibilities include:
-Reporting regularly to the Board about the library’s progress and future needs.
-Long range planning.
-Annual budgeting.
-Coordinating and overseeing staff and services, collection development, and patron access.
-Staying up to date on professional trends, technological advances, management theories
-Affiliating with state and national organizations for professional development.

Essential skills include:
-Ability to manage staff and projects simultaneously and efficiently.
-Strong organizational, research, and file management skills.
-Familiarity with trends and best practices in library resources.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
