The Putnam County Public Library is looking for a permanent part-time Archive
Assistant who would enjoy assisting patrons in exploring Putnam County’s records and history.

The successful candidate will have many of the following abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Enjoys learning new skills
  • Enjoys researching historical topics
  • Strong computer skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Taking direction from supervisor
  • Able to read handwriting
  • Comfortable handling fragile documents
  • Familiar with various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Ability to address reference questions
  • Familiar with Google Suite

Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent

Preferred But Not Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Library Science or History

Job Details
Part-time, in person
10 to 14 hours (2-3 days)/week

Paid bi-weekly
Starting pay is at least $13/hour depending on education and work experience

Shifts will vary, but fall within the library hours of:
Mondays-Thursdays: 9 am to 8 pm
Fridays & Saturdays: 9 am to 5 pm
Sundays: Always closed
