An opportunity exists for an energetic, enthusiastic individual to assist in developing, implementing and evaluating programs for children. The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties in all aspects of the library setting including: adult, children, audio-visual and circulation services. The selected candidate will assist patrons with their search for materials as well as offering basic reader’s advisory service and computer assistance. This is a high-visibility public service position in an environment requiring the ability to be flexible and multi-task oriented, exercise good judgment and demonstrate an ability to work well with both adult and children. The successful candidate will build community partnerships by providing outreach to schools and community groups to talk about programs and services available at the library.

Requirements for the selected candidate include a minimum of 2 years of college level courses and the commitment to complete 9 hours of accredited library instruction; at least two years of experience working with young children; experience with basic Internet searches and technology; excellent communication and customer service skills; and proven program planning, delivery and evaluation experience.

This is a 40 hour per week position with a minimum starting salary of $15.75 per hour and an outstanding benefit package including paid vacation, sick, personal time and holidays. The selected individual must be available to work some evening and weekend hours.
