Title: Treasurer

·         Salary: $560 bi-weekly

·         Position is part-time salary

·         Hours: 10-14 hours weekly, one Saturday per month.

Basic Purpose: To provide accurate and timely account of the library’s receipts and expenditures. Assist in banking, auditing, and payroll.

Duties:

·         Claim/Voucher Preparation

  • Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
  • Preparing Vouchers
  • Mailing and filing vouchers and checks

·         Ordering Forms

·         Posting and balancing of ledger

·         Payroll using AVC Payroll Software

  • Reports
  • Checks
  • Taxes

·         Representing the Board of Trustees as Treasurer and providing yearly financial report

·         Banking

·         Form Preparation

·         Assist Director with Annual budget preparation

·         Preparation of Annual Financial Report for SBOA

·         Participates in and aids in any audits

·         Follow Internal Controls Procedures

·         Assisting with the adult circulation desk

·         Doing related library work as required

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Must be 18 years of age. A high school diploma is required, some college is preferred.

·         Must have proficiency with computers and technology resources.

·         Proven ability to successfully use office applications

·         Experience preferred (one or more of the following)

  • Experience in accounting, finance, or related field or currently studying
  • Previous bookkeeping experience
  • Cash handling experience
