Library Director

The Alexandria-Monroe Public Library is seeking an experienced Director to help lead a seasoned staff into the future. With the aid of a unified board, strong management team, and widespread community support, the Director is charged with overseeing the library’s finances, daily operations, and creating/executing the five year plan amongst other administrative duties.

The library has been at the heart of Alexandria’s rural community for over 120 years. Currently serving a growing population of 8,500+, the new Director will be tasked with taking our personable, small-town, family experience and expanding into surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will be personable, possess strong communication skills, have a strong understanding of the budget process, and have prior library management experience.
A Masters degree in library science with a Librarian Certificate 3 (LC3) is preferred but not required.

This position requires at minimum a Librarian Certificate 4 (LC4) as described by Librarian Certification Administrative Rule 590 and the Indiana Public Library Certification Manual.
