Description/Responsibilities: 

Anderson Public Library is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Public Services Librarian to serve our patrons. In this role, you’ll provide expert reference and readers’ advisory services while actively engaging with a diverse community. You’ll have the opportunity to plan, develop, and present innovative and inclusive programs for adults that encourage library usage and foster strong community connections. The ideal candidate is someone passionate about public service who enjoys helping patrons from all walks of life navigate library resources, technology, and spaces with confidence and ease. If you’re enthusiastic about making a difference and creating a welcoming library experience for all, we’d like the opportunity to review your qualifications.

Qualifications: 

Master of Library Science degree from ALA accredited school; ability to obtain certification from Indiana State Library; at least two years – five years of experience preferred, working knowledge of electronic resources, social media, and web technologies; experience developing and conducting programming activities, public service minded with an emphasis on working with our customers and partners in the local community.

Compensation: $20.90 -23.52 per hour; excellent benefits package

Schedule: 40 hours per week, including evening and weekend shifts
