Job Title: Youth Librarian, full-time (Lapel Branch)

Description/Responsibilities: Are you a librarian that is enthusiastic, creative, and that has a passion for working with children & young adults? If so, you may be a great addition to our Lapel Branch! APL is seeking a dynamic Librarian to join our Lapel team to serve a growing community! As the Youth Librarian you will focus on meeting the needs of library customers by preparing and presenting programming for children and young adults inside the library, as well as participating in opportunities to provide library services and programming at offsite community locations. Additionally, you will provide engaging customer service and readers’ advice to visitors at the Lapel Branch and at offsite events. You will also have the ability to hone in on your creative skills as you create current, timely, and relevant displays throughout the branch! Qualifications: Master of Library Science degree from ALA accredited school; ability to obtain certification from Indiana State Library; public library youth services work experience preferred; customer service and public speaking skills; experience developing and conducting programming activities, knowledge of “Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library” model.

Salary: $20.39 – $22.94 per hour; excellent benefits package

Schedule: 40 hours per week, including evening and weekend shifts
