Harrison County Public Library is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Manager to lead our organization towards achieving its strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record in business development, project management, and process improvement. This role is pivotal in the smooth operation of various business functions.
Responsibilities:
- Pay and mail out all bills in a timely manner; record receipt of invoices
- Retain paid invoices for board approval and the State Board of Accounts
- Reconcile bank statement and upload board-approved statements to the State Board of Accounts
- Fill out ST-109 form as needed to retain exemption
- Enter monthly desk collections and make sure they balance to each library location
- Denote donations received and place in specified funds
- Prepare bank deposits
- Transfer credit card payments to the bank monthly
- Follow all federal, state and library policies and guidelines
- Maintain library capital assets report.
- Purchase library materials and supplies
- Build and develop relationships with outside businesses, in order to identify and resolve problems, receive product discounts, and to settle issues with orders
- Complete biweekly payroll retain records of timesheets and payroll reports
- Remit payments to payroll withholding accounts
- Onboarding of new employees; complete new hire paperwork; perform new employee orientation
- Enroll new and current employees in benefit programs offered by the library
- Oversee and maintain past and present employee records
- Help coordinate staff training and library events
- Calculate and update employee pay rate, vacation and personal time
- Update employees’ insurance premium rates
- File 99N yearly to retain tax exemption
- Prepare payroll dates, timesheets
- File injury and damage reports with the library’s insurance company
- Prepare Health Savings Accounts deposits per Board approval
- Calculate and deposit longevity pay for qualifying employees
- Prepare employees’ W2 and venders’ 1099 forms
- Upload and submit W2’s to state and federal entities
- Prepare year end financial reports
- Ensure notary commissions remain current
- Attend middle-management, State Board of Accounts, other pertinent meetings and training
- Complete destruction of nonpermanent records as approved by the Oversight Committee on Public Records
- Cooperate as a team member with library staff in performing duties essential to the achievement of efficient library operations
Pay: from $41,574.00 per year
