General Description of Position Duties:

Seeking a dynamic and innovative Library Media Specialist to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love of reading and learning, and skilled in using technology to enhance instruction.

 

Special Skills, Training or Aptitudes Required or Desired:

Instructional Services

·        Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and technology into classroom instruction.

·        Develop and implement engaging library programs and lessons.

·        Teach information literacy skills, including research, critical thinking, and digital citizenship.

Collection Development

·        Select, acquire, and maintain a diverse collection of print and digital materials to meet the needs of middle school students.

·        Organize and manage the library’s physical and digital resources.

Technology Integration

·        Promote the use of technology to support student learning and research.

·        Assist students and staff with technology troubleshooting and training.

·        Manage and maintain library technology equipment and software.

Library Management

·        Oversee daily library operations, including circulation, shelving, and inventory.

·        Create a welcoming and inviting library environment.

·        Collaborate with school staff and administration to support the school’s mission and goals.
