Currently, the Indiana State Library is working with the Indiana Astronomical Society to bring training and programming ideas to Indiana librarians.  Laura Keller, IAS Secretary and Librarian, compiled the Essential Astronomy Resource List for libraries to use.  IAS members, Ben Jansen, Laura Keller and Ben Keller came to the Indiana State Library to present the Essential Astronomy for Libraries webinar – see below.

Bring NASA to Your Library with STEM Programming

Ryan Curto, Bedford Public Library, and Allison McLean, Elkhart Public Library, share ideas for STEM programs they have done using the original NASA@MyLibrary kits.

Librarians can find a wealth of information and STEM activities on StarNet.  The Space Science Institute conducts research and encourages STEM programming by offering resources for educators and librarians.  Libraries can also check the Solar Systems Ambassadors website for volunteers who can help with programming and space education.  Check Night Sky Network, Indiana Astronomy Clubs and this list of websites put together by the Indiana University School of Astronomy for additional resources.
