In this panel, four librarians will share their experience with a variety of challenges. Book, display, and program challenges, as well as experience with book banning groups will be discussed. Cheri Harris, from the Indiana State Library, will also go over a summary of key legal points to remember when dealing with challenges.

With the recent influx of cybersecurity threats and attacks, it is imperative individuals understand the steps they need to take to keep their personal data safe. This presentation is designed to provide attendees with information regarding different cyber security threats, how to prevent them, and what to do if you are a victim of an attack.
The Indiana Early Literacy Firefly Award brings together young children and great picture books, but it can’t be done without public libraries. Learn about the award and how one Indiana library implements the program each year. Updates to the program and an overview of the annual program guide will also be covered.
The Creating Informed Learners in the Classroom project, made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (RE-13-19-0021-19), facilitated librarian-instructor partnerships to integrate information-rich student projects into disciplinary classrooms. The project was a partnership between librarians at Purdue University, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the University of Arizona. Over the course of 4 weekly online sessions, the project team trained 15 librarian-instructor teams (5 from each university) to use an information literacy framework called Informed Learning Design to design student projects that enable students to use information in new ways to learn in their courses.

According to two recent studies, large print collections are a still vital part of library services, and their usage has not diminished in the age of electronic resources. Learn what users with print disabilities need and want, and how best to create and maintain vibrant print disabled-friendly collections, no matter how small or large.
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committees are a great first step towards strategically ensuring that those facing barriers to library services in our communities are given access and opportunities.
