What is Indiana Legal Help: Using technology, Indiana Legal Help seeks to improve access to justice for all Hoosiers by removing barriers to the law so they can better understand their legal options, make informed decisions and connect to local legal and community resources.

With the proliferation of digital services available through libraries both public and academic, this imperative extends out beyond the walls of the library and into the realm of digital privacy. In this webinar, one librarian will talk through the preparation and implementation of three different programs on this topic: an online resource, a workshop at Monroe County Public Library, and a program at Indiana University Libraries. Over the last decade many areas in the state of Indiana have paid increasing attention to individuals living with dementia, primarily due to the rapid growth of the elderly population. Thrive Alliance and Bartholomew County Public Library have formed a partnership to work with individuals that are experiencing memory issues. This partnership has included working with music, delivering educational programs to the community at large and to the staff at the library, circulating kits targeting this population, and many more services. Come learn about how Thrive Alliance and Bartholomew Public Library evaluated and implemented these services.
Libraries give their communities access to amazing online resources with enormous potential to improve lives and build skills, but these databases and digital courses are a challenge to promote and often underutilized. The St. Joe County Public Library has had success with Bendable, a life long learning platform that pairs online learning with in person connections. Community engagement and outreach are at the heart of our strategy, and we work directly with community members, organizations, and businesses to curate learning opportunities. These strategies focus on workforce development and partner networks. This webinar will provide an introduction to Bendable and also explore strategies for learning-centered engagement and outreach that can be implemented by any library.
