Is This Sexual Harassment? The Library Edition – 1 LEU

Sexual harassment is prohibited under state and federal law. You are entitled to a workplace free of sexual harassment, but not all unpleasant encounters constitute harassment. We will discuss the difference between annoying behavior and actionable behavior. We will identify key elements of a sound sexual harassment policy and offer tips on how to handle uncomfortable situations that do not constitute sexual harassment. In this webinar you will learn to identify: Who can be a target of sexual harassment and who can be a harasser? What is the difference between risky behavior and sexual harassment? What should you do if you are the target of sexual harassment? What can you do if you are a witness or bystander? What are your duties as a manager or supervisor?

ISL Certification Portal: Introduction and Walk-Through – 1 LEU

In July 2021, the Indiana State Library (ISL) launched a new librarian certification portal: Certification for Indiana Librarians. Many librarians have accessed the portal, updated their information, and successfully renewed their 5-year certificates online. This informal meeting is designed to demonstrate how the portal works, share some tips for successfully navigating within the portal, illustrate activities that can be done from the portal, and address individual’s questions and concerns. We will demonstrate how to use the public look-up function, how to find and print out your own certificate, and how the name change process works.
